Hindi Movie Raavan release date, cast, story, preview. Raavan is a upcoming Hindi film written and directed by Mani Ratnam. It is simultaneously being made in Tamil as Raavanan with a slightly different cast.

Cast: Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram in the lead roles while Govinda, Ravi Kishan, Nikhil Dwivedi, Tejaswini Kolhapure and Priyamani play key supporting roles.

Release date: June 18, 2010

Story: Dev (Vikram), a policeman, falls in love with Ragini (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), a classical dancer. They are both unconventional. They get married and he takes her to his new post in Lal Maati, a small town in northern India. Lal Maati is a town where the word of law is not the police but Beera (Abhishek Bachchan), a tribal who has, over the years shifted the power from the ruling to the have-nots of the area. Dev knows that the key to bringing order to any place is to vanquish the big fish, in this case - Beera. In one stroke Dev manages to rip open Beera's world, and set in motion a chain of events which will claim lives, change fortunes. Beera, injured but enraged hits back starting a battle that draws Dev, Beera and Ragini into the jungle. The jungle which is dense, confusing and scary. And in this journey they must confront their own truth. A journey which will test their beliefs, convictions and emotions. Emotions which are as scary and confusing as the forest. The forest becomes the setting for the battle. The battle between the good and the evil, between Dev and Beera, between Ram and Raavan. When the lines dividing the good and the evil starts to blurr, whose side will you take? When hate turns to love and good starts looking as evil which side will you battle for. Raavan delivers as expected. Now that's a good sign in itself since to begin with, the expectations were huge in any case. There are number of gems in the album, most notably being 'Ranjha Ranjha', 'Beera Beera' and 'Thok De Killi'. Go for it, this one is not to be missed as it has Rahman coming up with one of his best soundtracks in recent times.

Rahman stays true to the element of Ratnam's vision as there's never any attempt to show off or introduce unnecessary elements. The outcome is exquisite. Or should I say expected.

Another big movie of year 2010 Mani ratnam's Raavan movie release date has been postponed. Raavan is directed by Mani Ratnam and stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles with Vikram, Govinda, Ravi Kishan, Nikhil Dwivedi and Priyamani in supporting roles. It is simultaneously being made in Tamil as Raavana with a different cast. The music of the movie is composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. The film will also be dubbed into Telugu and other regional languages. The movie was to release on May 21st 2010, but now it has postponed to 18th June 2010 as the Hrithik roshan starrer movie Kites is releasing on 21st May 2010.
